How to Rule the World!

I recently overheard a woman talking about how she could rule the world if she only knew how to feel more energetic. Huh? Ruling the world shouldn’t be a goal. Ruling YOUR world should! I always say that everyone is capable of anything- you just have to try!

You can rule your world if you do the following;

1. Know that you can’t control everything. You can, however, control how your respond.

2. Know that you have to have an exit plan. Things happen.

3. Understand that you have to fail before you can rule. As long as you get back up and seek to better yourself, you can take control over your destiny.

Don’t spend time wishing for things to happen or making excuses as to why they are not. You can be better. You can rule your own world.

The #1 Thing Business Owners Will Not Share About Entrepreneurship!

Business owners share a lot of advice. What they don’t tell you is between the networking events, overseeing employees and interacting with clients- there is a real sense of isolation. Yes, entrepreneurs are often lonely people.

Business owners tend not to share this “dirty little secret” because there is a sense of shame often associated with the lone wolf type of personality. I’m not even sure most business owners like to be alone at the end of the day, but it happens more often than not. Why? We’re busy and we are constantly working. That is just the fact of who we are and what we do. We are our companies.

Relationships fail because we are tied to work. Family commitments get put to the back burner more often than they should because we are closing deals or traveling often. We, as entrepreneurs, learn to embrace this job factor and fill the time reading, being quite or (dare I say it)- eating a meal not at our desk!

I think we should , as entrepreneurs, address this fact with aspiring business owners. We owe it to them to be honest. You are investing in yourself, which means you are truly submersing yourself , and 95% of your time, in your business. You will be busy. You can feel lonely. It is a job hazard , but when the company takes off and you can build a legacy for your family- or family to be- the sense of accomplishment often outweighs the years of loneliness.

Why Businesses Fail.

Businesses fail for a variety of reasons. However, there are two main reasons that businesses tend to bite the dust. The first reason is over thinking your worth. The second is a lack in leadership.

You can think you are better than you are. It happens all the time. Assuming your business is the best will help you lose sight of your competition. And, you should always have your eyes focused on the competition- especially when starting up. I suggest you do a self-assessment. Email your current clients and ask them how you can improve. Ask friends where they think you lack talent. Although this information can sometimes be painful to hear and read, it can help you improve in business and save your company.

Lead by example. Maybe your company is failing because your employees are underpaid and overworked. Are you stepping up the plate when it comes to pitching in. Spending a day helping to file, answer phones or data entry shows your team that you're capable and able. It really does boost morale and this gives you insight into areas that your operations department can improve upon.

Take this weekend to asses yourself and decide to pitch in more within our company. You have to be more than present at work- you have to be involved and self-aware in order to avoid failure.
